Vision Board: POWER OF VISION
LIFE is YOURS, what are YOU doing with it?
A vision board is a powerful visualization tool that activates the universal law of attraction to begin manifesting your dreams into reality. It’s a visual representation of all your desires you want now in your life.
In simple terms, its just a poster/foam board with a lot of pictures on it. It is a collage of pictures/paintings which you would like to have, be, and like in your life. It is also called the “wish board”, “dream board”, and “success board.”
What does it do?
The vision board implements the concept of law of attraction.
Now what is law of attraction: the law which states that we attract in our life anything we think about and talk about. I heard about "law of attraction" while I was in my high school but never believed in it until after 7 years now when I finished reading a book called the Secret. It was really hard for me to believe that the the simple process of writing out goals and visualizing their accomplishment actually works and works big time. It makes you think about your goals and propels the process of accomplishing them by motivating you to work on your goals while bringing those goals closer to you.
Before you begin creating YOUR Vision Board?
Think how would you really like to live, what would you like to have, like to do etc and write them down on a piece of paper. If you don’t know what to think about I have listed a few key points below:
Travel: Where would you want to go?
Love: How do you want your love life to be?
Family, health, friends, relationships, etc.
MUST BE’s for your Vision Board
Your vision board must be:
Visual: A picture is worth 1,000 words. Your vision board should have pictures which emotionally compelling. The images could be of anything. It could be a car that you want to drive or it could be something which moves you emotionally like your desire for freedom. You should see your vision board and feel happy about your self and your life. Your board should be bright and colorful. The mantra is to actually FEEL and SEE everything around you happening exactly how you wish it to be.
Textual: Your board should have the text/statement along with pictures to speak out loud to you. These statements should be powerful and bold. I personally use “I am and I have” statements for this such as: “I am financially independent.”
Emotional: Your vision board should arouse the healthy positive emotions in you. Just by looking at it, you should get "I want to achieve it" feeling and get all passionate about your dreams.
Positive: You know the saying, “One rotten apple spoils the whole barrel.”, the slightest interference of any type of negative feelings can mess up your positive attitude. Just stay away from negative resources and so be very careful of selecting the pictures for your vision board. For example: you can put in a picture showing a person helping others, meditation etc.
Personal: You vision board should be personal. It should reflect something YOU really want, want to be, or want to see in you. If you dread the explanation of your vision board from others, keep it at a location where only you can see it.
Strategically located: The last thing you should see and think about before going to sleep and the first thing after you wake up in the morning should be your Vision Board. You could also put it in your office cubicle or the place where you can get a glimpse of it now and then.
Honest: You have to be honest with yourself. For an effective use of vision board you might want to avoid “I have 100 million dollars in my bank account” statement at first. Most people will have a very hard time believing in their gut.
Things you have to do with your Vision Board:
TALK to your Vision Board …. WHY? You need to talk to your Vision Board and not just see it. Consistency is very important for your vision board. Ideally, you should set aside some time every day to look at your vision board and imagine yourself inside the pictures. If you impress these images on your subconscious mind every day, you will put out the vibrations necessary to attract them. This moves the goal closer to you while you are moving closer to it. Always make an affirmation (I have, I am etc.) in the present tense, as if you already have that what you desire. If you are not happy with your current job, imagine yourself doing something which you would like to do. You have to constantly feel your Vision Board and believe in it, don’t give up on it it. If you want to have a good relationship, say that “I have a happy and healthy relationship.” Feel the satisfaction and happiness of that state where you already have all those things which you wanted before.
UPDATE your Vision Board .… WHY? Just like anything, your vision board which is basically your dreams needs modifications. You would just know when you have to update your vision board. Over time you will find that there are some pictures on your vision board which don’t carry the emotional impact that they used to before, so this is the time to update your Vision Board. As I said it’s a great source of inspiration and motivation. You’ll be surprised after even a few months of how quickly your life starts to change. You’ll see yourself reaching goals and then wondering why you set it so low.

I’m a huge believer in the vision board. I created my first vision board back in April of 2008, and life has not been the same since. Some how, some way, the things that I want in my life, make their way to me. It’s kind of like “The world is working in my favor”
Thanks for your comment Reena. Yes, it’s so true. It definitely feels like world is working in your favor
